Description
Infectious, playful and bold, Vertigo is the debut single from new Australian creative maverick Marét.
The singer, songwriter and artistic director explains, “My music germinates from tumultuous times, from beautiful moments and a calling for something bigger than I am.”
As a result, Marét’s irresistibly hypnotic single is a call to arms to “keep going, even when you want to give up.” It’s a universal experience, but one that Marét explores through her unique insights on surrender, identity and joy.
Produced by Jean-Paul Fung and co-written with Marét, Vertigo amplifies “the feeling of climbing the mountain and taking it one step at a time, knowing you can trust whatever is pulling you there.”
The accompanying video for Vertigo is crisp, irreverent, and importantly, symbolic. Featuring a futuristic dancing panda, it “explores identity through the masks we create for ourselves, connecting to joy and, ultimately, each other.” Watch it once, and you’ll be dancing at your desk. Watch it twice, and you may find yourself dancing in public with a wry smile and reckless abandon.
There’s a new cure for vertigo; Marét’s world-class debut is the medicine.
